Royal Brown Oak Pen

Out of stock

Handturned historic wooden pens by Pittswood Pens.jpg

The wood for these hand-turned pens come from an ancient English Oak tree which grew on the grounds of Windsor Great Park in Berkshire, England. This 900 year old oak tree was sadly blown down by a storm in December 2013.  This particular tree showed a very slow growth rate with a 4cm section of wood showing 115 years of growth.

Windsor Great Park is a Royal Park of 4,800 acres and has  some of the oldest broadleaved woodlands in Europe and whenever possible,  some of the parks fallen and dead trees are left to create a diverse habitat for insects, fungi and wildlife.

The Royal brown oak pen is available in five pen styles (see examples below).  The large image below shows a Seren pen made with this wood. Pens are supplied with a soft velvet drawstring pouch, history information sheet plus a signed certificate to accompany the pen.
